1. Quick Attendance Calculator
Count scheduled sessions from the same training period. The example starts with 17 sessions attended out of 20.
2. Player Attendance Tracker
Add each player’s totals for the period you are reviewing. This tracker records attendance totals, rather than a session-by-session register.
These four fictional players demonstrate the tracker. Clear Demo Data to start your own list; adding your first player also replaces the examples.
| Player | Attended | Missed | Total | Attendance % | Status | Actions |
|---|
Reset removes every player and the team name saved by this tracker. Print a copy first if you need to keep the record.
Player entries are saved on this device in this browser, without being sent by this tool to a server. They do not sync across devices. Clearing site data or ending private browsing may remove them. Use nicknames on shared devices and keep a printed or PDF copy.
3. Team Attendance Summary
Average team attendance is the arithmetic mean of the individual player percentages: each player counts equally, even if their session totals differ. Empty teams have no attendance percentage.
4. Attendance Goal
Use the Quick Attendance Calculator totals above to work out your next step. To check a tracked player, copy their attended and total figures into that calculator.
This assumes you attend every future session. A missed session changes both the total and the target calculation.
How Do You Calculate Soccer Training Attendance?
Divide the number of training sessions attended by the total number of scheduled sessions, then multiply by 100.
Attendance % = Sessions Attended ÷ Total Sessions × 100
17 ÷ 20 × 100 = 85%
Sessions missed are total sessions minus sessions attended. In this example, the player missed 3 of 20 sessions. Enter whole sessions only; decide how your team records partial attendance before comparing players. Do not count a cancelled practice as a missed session.
What Is a Soccer Training Attendance Calculator?
A soccer training attendance calculator converts attended and scheduled practice sessions into an attendance percentage. An attendance tracker adds a record for each player so coaches can review player and team training totals together.
This football attendance calculator shows attended sessions, missed sessions, the total, a percentage and a descriptive status. The tracker keeps a small roster on your device; it does not check players in, assess football ability or decide team selection.
What Is a Good Training Attendance Percentage?
In this tool, 80% to below 90% is labelled Good Attendance and 90% to 100% is Excellent Attendance. These are descriptive bands for reviewing consistency, not universal club rules or measures of effort.
| Attendance | Status | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 90–100% | Excellent Attendance | Excellent consistency. You are attending almost every scheduled training session. |
| 80% to below 90% | Good Attendance | Your attendance is strong overall. Try to maintain the same consistency throughout the season. |
| 70% to below 80% | Needs Improvement | You are missing a noticeable number of sessions. More consistent attendance may support better continuity in training. |
| Below 70% | Low Attendance | Your attendance is relatively low. Review what is causing the missed sessions and look for ways to improve consistency. |
Attendance percentages should be viewed alongside factors such as injury, illness, recovery, school, work, travel, and coaching decisions. Agree on the sessions a player was expected to attend, and use that same definition throughout the review period.
Soccer Training Attendance Example
A player who attends 21 of 24 training sessions has an attendance rate of 87.5% and has missed 3 sessions.
21 ÷ 24 × 100 = 87.5%
That falls in this calculator’s Good Attendance band. Review the reasons for those three absences before drawing conclusions. A player returning from injury may have a different agreed schedule from teammates.
Why Track Football Training Attendance?
Attendance records help coaches see who was present for a practice block and who may need a recap. If a player missed the session on defending wide areas, a short explanation before the next small-sided game can help them rejoin the group.
A team attendance tracker also helps with practical planning: expected numbers for rondos, available goalkeepers and whether to prepare two or three small-sided teams. Compare a consistent period, such as preseason or the last four weeks, instead of mixing unrelated totals.
How Do Coaches Track Football Training Attendance?
Coaches record each player’s attended sessions against the sessions scheduled for that player, then update those totals after training. A name, attended count and total count are enough for a simple percentage-based record.
For youth football and school teams, review the list with parents when transport or school commitments affect attendance. Football academies and development programs can use a regular review period; grassroots and amateur clubs can keep a season or preseason total. Add one record per player and use Edit to update it, rather than creating a new row for every session.
Use the soccer player development plan generator to organize practice priorities alongside this record. Attendance tells you who took part; the player evaluation scorecard helps record what a coach actually observed.
How Players Can Improve Training Consistency
Check the weekly schedule early, agree transport in advance and tell the coach when you cannot attend. After an absence, ask what the group covered so the next session has a clear starting point. Review an achievable attendance goal with your coach instead of treating every missed session as a failure.

How Many Sessions Do You Need to Reach an Attendance Goal?
Subtract attended sessions from the target fraction multiplied by total sessions, divide by one minus the target fraction, then round up to a whole session.
Future sessions = round up ((target × total − attended) ÷ (1 − target))
For 17 of 20 and a 90% target: (0.90 × 20 − 17) ÷ 0.10 = 10
After attending the next 10 sessions, the record becomes 27 of 30, which is exactly 90%. If you already meet your target, no extra sessions are needed to reach it. If you have missed a session, a cumulative 100% is impossible in a finite number of future sessions; the tool explains this instead of returning Infinity. Goals accept 0.01% to 100% with up to two decimal places.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate soccer training attendance?
Divide attended training sessions by total scheduled sessions and multiply by 100. For example, 17 attended out of 20 gives 85%.
What is a good attendance percentage for football training?
This tool labels 80% to below 90% as Good Attendance and 90–100% as Excellent Attendance. Your club’s expectations may differ, and absences need context.
How do I track player attendance at soccer practice?
Enter each player’s name, attended sessions and total scheduled sessions, then update their row after practice. The tracker calculates missed sessions, attendance percentage and status automatically.
Can I track an entire football team?
Yes. Add a separate row for each player to see the team average, highest and lowest attendance. You can add a team name and print the complete list.
What does an 80% attendance rate mean?
It means the player attended 8 out of every 10 scheduled sessions in the period measured. Attending 16 of 20 sessions is 80%, with 4 sessions missed.
Can this tracker be used for youth soccer teams?
Yes. Coaches or parents can use it for youth teams, school squads and academies. Use a nickname if appropriate and consider illness, recovery, school and transport when reviewing the figures.
Is the VanoraHub soccer attendance tracker free?
Yes. Calculating, saving in this browser and printing are free, with no account required. Choose Save as PDF in your browser’s print dialog to keep a portable report.
